Happy Belated Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

About a week ago, I had planned once I came home to make you guys a post but I... Well, you could say I am a bookworm. I just wasted my time reading my new Agatha Christie book! Aaand I am pretty lazy.

Anywho.. I also went next door to Party & Variety next door to the barbers shop where my dad was the same day. OMM (OH MY MOM) , the teeny bottles were gone. I was thinking of doing some doll tips for your dolly's rooms with that :( . Oh well. They still had the pails and rolling pins. I chose one of each of those. There were mini goblets and little heart boxes. I refused.... But then I found styrafoam balls to make mini cake pops. And there were irresistable mini paper mache boxes, and after, I discovered tiny... What are they called?? Wooden clips.. To hang clothes to dry on a string? I guess. I thought I could buy all of them, but then I realized I didn't have $20, I had $10! AHHHH. WHAT A HORROR! So I ended up purchasing the pail, rolling pin, and the wooden clips. I looked at the cashier screen, and it said I only spent HALF of money for those three items! Ugh! I could've bought ALLL of them. I say ALLLLLLL OF THEM.

Ookay, I'm pretty much going crazy. Well, here are the items!

Now's the time for today's craft:
I decided to make a craft with sewing. Non-sewers, I'm sorry. Maybe I should make a post about how to sew... Anyway, on this blog post, Blogger the steps for the DIY cookies, and I lost all the photos, so just bear with me.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Tan felt
Brown/dark brown foam
No glue dots/ glue needed if your foam is sticky-sided
Tan thread
Needle
1 cotton ball (I found I didn't even have to use one whole cotton ball for all the cookies)

Let's. get. STARTED!!!

1) For the first cookie (you will repeat each step for as many cookies as you want) cut two same-sized tan felt circles.

2) Sandwich the two circles together, and start sewing around the rim. Stop halfway, so it looks like the cookie is a pocket.

3) Now, tear a small piece of the cotton ball and put it inside the "pocket". Do as much as you want. Continue sewing around.

4) Last step is the chocolate chips. Cut teeny triangles of the brown foam, and attach them onto the finished cookie.

TADA!!! :)

I hoped you enjoyed that, and your doll has enjoyed her yummy treat.
Here's a little pic I wanted to share with you guys that I made:
That's right just keep on sharing :D

Also, I have a program starting soon this June called "Follow Me Thru Summer". Every summer, I go to a place (it's a secret for now). This year, I decided to take Morgan along. The program, as posts on Hey There, Dolly!, will be about the places I've been at the place (I know, it sounds confusing), and photoshoots with Morgan-dressy as always ;)  . I probably won't post any dolly crafts, but there's loads of happenings that are gonna happen this summer (again, confusing words :P ). I was going to give you a clue about the country, but Blogger wouldn't work, so instead I'll give 2 clues.

1) It starts with a T and has a K somewhere in there...
2) It is neighbors with a country that is known for its gods and mythology.

I know, a little tricky, but I don't want to give it away easily!!
Here's 2 quick photoshoots:

Anyway, ciao! The next post before I leave will have to do with pets (and may also include the grand finale of my vacation destination)

~J.J. And Morgan~

4 weeks..

IYup, 4 weeks. Ahhh, sad. I apologize. It's so hard to write a blog with so much stuff going on. I have school, homework, clarinet, piano, basketball, ballet, swimming, skating... It's hard to keep track. And I've just got my favorite game Minecraft on my computer, so I spend time on SkyBlock with my friend. BTW, my name is BluMist.

Anywho, a lot has been going on. For my bday, April 11, my fabulous sewing grandma bought me the American Girl doll Flute set- yay! Now Morgan has an instrument to practice! I also heard about the cute mini rubix cubes, tape, and notebooks at Party City by reading Happy House of AG. Awesome! Party and Variety is in my neighborhood, they opened up a couole years ago. I was in the back section with my mom for treats at my bday party, and i found a tiny pail, bottle, and rolling pin for a tiny kitchen! They're perfect doll sized. I regret not buying one of each right then and there! Before I forget, Staples has mini binders, they're so detailed! It comes with a lot of papers with punched holes to put in the binder... And yes, the binder clips can open and close! The cover of the binder has a big, clear, pocket, like regular binders do. I'm gonna put some decorative paper with Mirgan's name on it. School upgrade!
OK, today's craft is something last-minute! I was thinking of making a (human sized) bag made from newspaper, and then I thought, why not make a doll sized one too? This newspaper bag is perfect for your doll's shopping needs :)
Here's the materials!
-Tape and glue
-Thread and needle (optional)
-Paper
-Newspaper pages 1-2 (depends how much pretty text and pics you want ; )
-Scissors
-Thin rope, or string, or twine, like I used.

1) Spread out the newspaper pages

-Now begin to cut out random sizes of different text and photos. It doesn't have to be a whole article in one piece, it looks cool in my opinion to cut out sections. Make sure you don't cut out WAY too many photos.

3) After you are satisfied, glue pieces in any order you want onto the blank white paper. Try to fit as much text and photos as you can without any white from the white paper showing.
 4) Once this is complete, cut out a rectangle from two of the papers (or one if you can squeeze two rectangles in), about 5 1/8  across and 4 1/2 down.

5) Put these two papers against eachother, the text and photo side showing. WARNING: I like to laminate the papers using clear packing tape. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU WANT TO SEW THE 3 SIDES TOGETHER. I tried laminating the papers and then sewing. I only got one side done and then I gave up, the needle wouldn't go through two thick layers. I suggest if you laminate first, just tape the bottom and left and right sides together. Case solved.

(Heh you can see my wittle toe) 6) Cut a piece of twine or string, and attach some tape to each end. Instert the ends as far as you can into the bag (but not TOO far), and firmly press for a couple secs.

TADA! you did it! *does a little celebration dance.
You can even add accessories like a little pocket:

Try with different themes, liek mine was flowers, or different products like folders. Even use different substances like maybe... DUCT TAPE!
:) I certainly had fun with this craft. I even found some beautiful pictures to hang up in Morgan's room. Who knows looking through newspapers could be so rewarding?
